Be Social With Work

I went out to eat with some coworkers after work this evening. We hung out in celebration of a coworkers baby shower. It was nice to socialize and get to know people better.

I’m finally part of a workforce, I’m at a place where I’d like to be for a while. I already enjoy hanging out with my coworkers. We all have similar perspectives, and experience at work yet its a relatively diverse group with various passions. We all have a common goal of success and being great as a whole company.

While hanging out tonight we actually talked a bit about work, the markets we’re entering different techniques and whatnot. A number of coworkers asked me what I did prior to Dispatch, I was thankful to them for taking an interest in my experiences, and I hope that I can continue to have more personal conversations with them, about different passions, hobbies, and experiences over time over lunch breaks, and after work again.

So if your company is planning an outing, make a point of going. Even though you may spend many a day with your coworkers, it can be helpful to be social and show a vested interest outside of work so you can better understand those people you see at the office.

I hope I can join the company softball team soon as well.
