Work-Life Balance
My new job is great already, it’s an awesome environment that I believe will only get even better over time! The balance even goes beyond work and life.
Even during work, there are sure to be levels of balance. Whether it’s being on the phone for a solid half hour with different prospects at certain times, engaging with coworkers about various sales or marketing tactics, or even having an all-team meeting once a week. There are various important elements that keep a workforce engaged while avoiding burn out. I can already tell that this present at Dispatch. While there are clear goals, there’s also an open office setting as I recently mentioned in another post.
Work-Life balance, on the other hand, is also important but very different. It means having separate times for work and life. Sounds simple enough but many employees don’t as easily get this, whether it’s weird hours, not enough hours for the expected work, or perhaps an encouragement to take too much home and handle too many replies over the weekend. Of course, there are numerous jobs where some of these elements are expected. Say retail or real estate but these kinds of jobs among others lend themselves to different lifestyles overall.
So no matter where or how you work, consider how your work impacts your life, and try to make any possible, and practical changes to make that balance better in and out of work time.
It’s a balancing act.
