It’s Finally Happened
I got severe writers block today. I don’t know what else to touch on today, but I have confidence I’ll have something else to say tomorrow.

A Tale of Two Cars
I’ve been driving cars since shortly after I got my permit at age 15. I bought my first car from my parents at age 18. I bought my second car about a year ago now when I was 21. Cars have always been my primary mode of transportation between errands with my mom, trips to my grandparents, and family road trips. So, find joy in the journey down the road. My first car was actually my parents’ car first. It was a 1998 Saturn SL1. They bought it used from a Saturn dealer when I was about 9 or 10. We took trips to grandparents but its notable adventures were…

The Hardware Behind the Scenes
Most everyone nowadays has a small computer. There’s hardly any tube monitors or even towers unless you’re a gamer or developer. But often there is still a lot of hardware to consider in our computer-driven world. In a digital world, the hardware is also important. Even with my skinny little MacBook Air, I have computer cords, and I like connecting a second screen, which in my case is my TV. I also need my external hard drive and my USB sticks. Beyond that, I have my tablet phone and smartwatch. They all function together but they have very different hardware and casing. Even with my digital music collection, there’s either…

Designing Daily Series – Day 15 – Dormigo
As someone who is thinking about moving out soon, the Dormigo concept was intriguing to me. I combined some of the text on their website for this Facebook post idea. Note: I do not own the logo it is from the company’s website at http://dormigo.com/

Designing Daily Series – Day 14 – Nuanced Media
Nuanced Media is a marketing and web agency from Tucson, I thought this quote was especially interesting. It was quite convecting as well. Marketing is about showing people how you can solve their problem. Nuanced media had a lot to their website, and It seems like they have a diverse portfolio. Note: The logo on the website is not mine it’s from the company’s website at https://nuancedmedia.com/

Designing Daily Series – Day 13 – YAL
I can’t tell quite yet how much this group lines up with my personal political convictions, but they stood out as the only explicitly politically affiliated business partner that Praxis works with at this point. So seeing that they had social media accounts but mostly memes and external article links I thought it could be valuable to provide them with an advertisement to put on their accounts to encourage postings with their hashtag and send people to their website. Note: I do not own the logo or the typeface screen shot in the photo, they were copied from the YAL website at https://yaliberty.org/

Designing Daily Series – Day 10 – Gimme Vending
Gimme Vending is revolutionizing the vending machine business, they have found a way to provide a better vending experience to clients, and save them money as well! I designed this to be a Twitter advertisement for the company as they have some content but I believe something like this could make their social media even better! Note: I do not own the logo (http://www.gimmevending.com/) or the image (https://www.instagram.com/p/BoZfT4dh8Ja/?taken-by=gimmevend) in the photo.

Senior High Ministry
I know I just wrote about my time in junior high ministry last month but I am so excited to move on with many of the same kids and be there for them as high schoolers…at least for a little while. What’s unique about my situation is that I’ll be the only leader who hung out with all these graduating classes of kids that are current high schoolers, in middle school. From the moment I was done in senior high youth group I missed it, and then I loved junior high ministry, but coming back to senior high as a leader will be a new experience. I’ll be working with a…

Do Your Boss a Favor – Praxis Wednesday Response
Last night was Praxis Wednesday, and this time it was a group discussion. It was fun to catch up with those from other modules. We had the chance to discuss the past month with other current participants and then heard from 3 Praxis graduates. It was helpful to hear how they had been successful in their fields, and what to do in order to succeed ourselves. Take steps to impress your business partner/boss, and show them what you want to do to add value in your own way, they just might appreciate your initiative. Whether it’s taking them out to lunch to suggest an idea of yours or suggesting a…

If You Go to College Please Be Smart About It
I went to college for 3 years and part-time for another year. I had a free year of college due to my PSEO (Post Secondary Enrollment Option) years. I didn’ t know of any other way to reach my goals at the point of enrollment. Plus I know that my degree can never be taken away from me. College was an investment for me, and I accepted the consequences, good and bad. I went three years of private school, and a year of community college. They are very different. One is the lowest cost college, the other the highest. I made my decision this way so I could do the most…
