Truly, Truly
These are my thoughts from the sermon I herd this morning at church. 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3 The 2 words back to back communicate the absolute certainty of the claim. Another spiritual truth in this passage is that we’re born again. Jesus is the giver of life. 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3 This has to do with how we are reborn out of baptism and belief. But our salvation is based on our faith alone.

Comedy Is for So Many Contexts
Blog about how everything can be comedy from politics to sports, to hobbies, and everything in between. It might seem obvious, but I think when you start to see the humor in more areas of life, you start to let your guard down for the better. Comedy is so fun, I love thinking of puns and I think this is the best example of how many contexts it can present itself in. You can make a pun anywhere, and even if people groan, its a great icebreaker. Lately the good comedians I’ve seen on YouTube and such, not only make tons of puns, they make fun of something they’ve seen…

Shout Out to Long Distance Friends
Hey friend, if we live a ways apart this one’s for you. I have friends in at least 4 different states, that’s not a brag, it’s simply an acknowledgment and a chance to say I’m thankful for each of them. It’s been fun to visit people across the country lately. It makes me truly love even the simplest of trips. I love staying with friends in their homes, and doing normal life, and fun things around their home with them, even the grocery store in some cases to enjoy food together at home. It’s fun to message long distance friends, they’re one of the notable reasons I am so thankful…

Types of (Swing) Dance
I love learning dances. Now I want to share a list of dances and some links to helpful resources so you can know what you’re getting yourself into with various kinds of dance. I’ve included the one’s on this list as their the one’s I’ve tried at one point or another. East Coast: The easy to learn dance, that is easier to add aerials to. I’ll add that this video doesn’t show the absolute basic step, it shows some fun turns and spins thought. With easy cost and Lindy hop (below) it is said that you kind of dance into the floor, in order to balance correctly and keep the…

The University of You
I’ve said it before that sometimes learning on YouTube is the way to go, sometimes reading is the way to go, sometimes listening to music is the way to learn, and there are numerous other ways, but I’ve noticed that although its can be awesome to learn from others we also teach ourselves, and “make our own curriculum” in some ways. I put this in quotes because it’s not at all about the university experience, its about discovering what the tools you need and learning what you need to know to succeed. I just taught myself how to draw lines in Adobe today, I didn’t watch a video, I’ve hardly…

The Case and Critique for Roundabouts
I’m traveling this week and I’ve found myself in an area with more round-abouts then I’m used to, but I’m not driving so I’m okay with it for the most part. In Minnesota we don’t have many, and because they’re few and far between for the most part we’re not used to them. These kind of road designs are conflicting just because you may have to wait a while to get into a one-lane one, or they’re multi lane and seem ridiculously dangerous. As I was riding through one with my friend today, she expressed her frustration, and said she gets confused with them, and while we were on the…

Upgrades
I have updated technology… for the most part, I don’t have the latest phone, but I have one that does what I need it to do. I don’t have the latest computer, I have one that does what I need it to do. I updated my car (I had to buy a different vehicle because my first car went kaput) to what I could afford while also keeping in mind that I wanted to have a relatively reliable car. When I buy an apartment, I plan to find a balance between space, amenities, and price. Some people update their devices every year, whether they need it or not, whether the…

Busy
My Dad approached me this morning and asked about how I was doing, he said I always seemed busy. In the moment it couldn’t’ve felt further from the truth. I’m not where I thought I’d be right now, but because I consistently do work for my Praxis program, swing dance, and volunteer at youth group among other things, my family sees business. I want to be busier. Kinda. I want to be doing everything I can. I want to be working out to become healthier, I want to be hanging out with those I care about more, creating more, learning more, and exploring the world. I wish I didn’t like…

The Up and Coming Business Count
As I page through my Entrepreneur magazine I’m reminded of how many new businesses are starting up all the time. I’m also reminded of a point in Niche Down that notes that we are at one of the lowest levels of entrepreneurship in American history. What a contrast to what I had thought! Prior to reading these resources, I was under the impression that everybody and their brother was trying to start a company. I thought it wouldn’t work because so many new businesses were starting up and how could they all have new ideas, but that’s just not the case! There are so many people and so many great ideas,…

Marketing to make Him famous
Marketers do what they do to make products, services and people famous. I should know, I’m one of them. Oh my goodness though does this ever have to be a balance though. I want to do a great job wherever I work, and I think the balance can be most easily found in praising God through doing a good job at what we do here on Earth. If I can make a brand famous, I’ll be doing a good job for my boss, and using the gifts and talents God has given me. This is true for any job, but marketing is special in that your goal is to make…
