Do As the Locals Do
Back when I was in college my family took a trip to Milwaukee. It was a fun trip. We saw some new things, in a new place.
The three main memories I have from this trip without looking at photos are a creamery tour, a brewery tour, and the Harley-Davidson tour/museum. If that doesn’t describe a trip to Wisconsin well I don’t know what does. I also realized as I typed this that we also went on the Pabst Mansion tour, and that was really cool as well.
Clearly, this isn’t all of what Wisconsin in about, but it’s still an intrinsically important part of the state from what I can tell. I mean even their baseball team is based on one of these themes (see: Milwaukee Brewers.
I love seeing what a place is about, as I mentioned last weekend my Mom and I went to Door County, which is still Wisconsin but a different atmosphere. These trip we took at a little more relaxed pace. Which I imagine is what many who own homes or cabins there do as well. We also drove all over the peninsula, seeing different bays, and trying local restaurants.
So wherever you are, try touristy things, and things the locals love. From recommended restaurants to things pertaining to the area, to seeing local architecture and unique outdoor spaces.
