Glory to God! – My Digital Christmas Card 2021
Thank the Lord for a wonderful year!
Last year ended wonderfully celebrating the engagement of one of Nick’s good friends on New Year’s Eve!
Later on in January I enjoyed my 8th (including being a student) snow camp. This was a crazy year at snow camp, tbh like always but still we had to deal with a few “Great Lockdown” problems as well, but we still had fun!
February brought Nick and I’s first Valentine’s day which we celebrate with dinner and trip to the Minnesota history museum.
March brought another overnight youthgroup retreat to Des Moines, with a fun car ride, great speakers, and Krispy Kreme.
April was our kick off to wedding season, Nick was in his friend Eli’s wedding and I came along as his plus one.
The month also brought another fun youth group retreat, this time it was the Spring Blitz retreat but back at Trout Lake Camp due to the “Great Lockdown”.
May brought some fun dates for Nick and I and a second wedding to attend.
I believe my personal highlight of June was learning how to get up on one water ski and slalom around the lake (I had previously dropped one successfully last summer) with the Jr Hi ministry leadership team. Because I was successful early in the summer and it made for a number of other great opportunities to slalom around lakes this summer. Fortunately Nicholas and my Mom were both able to see me ski as well, throughout summer.
That said June was also a three wedding month. I loved it. I got to celebrate friends and family, and dance my evenings away with Nicholas.
All summer long I enjoyed going to art nights with Sr Hi ministries at church and hanging out with my students at the park as well.
June brought the Beck’s engagement to Caleb. Thankfully I found my maid of honor dress shortly there after that month.
July was a very busy month but I loved it.
I started off the month going with Nicholas to his families house for a night. I got to go skiing, I made a surprisingly good catch in family kickball, and enjoyed the day with Nick and his family in general.
In the middle of the month I went to the Boston area for four nights. I spent most of the first day being a tourist in the city, and then enjoyed a conference the rest of the time. I loved exploring the city by myself and enjoyed touring Paul Revere’s home, and the Old North Church. I go the chance to enjoy clam chowder on the harbor, some time at Cheers (yes that one), and a ride on the antique swan boats.
I got back home and drove to counsel at Koronis Bible Camp that same day. The week at the lake was a blast! I got to counsel my third cousins and their friend. Enjoy trips into Paynesville, and great Bible lessons during our chapels. I even got to sing some fun camp songs I remembered growing up.
As soon as camp was over I was on my way to Grand Marais for one last weekend at my grandparents’ home. This was bittersweet and quick but an over all lovely time. Enjoying some of my families classic favorites in the area.
August went buy quite quick with planning a large event at work. Attending a get together with my Mom’s cousin’s and extended family.
September was finally Nick and I’s chance to go to the state fair together! We enjoyed meeting up with Nick’s mom and youngest sister, and as per quite normal actually running into some friends by surprise as well. We even found Fairchild!
Unfortunately days later my uncle Scott passed in a mountain biking accident. Praise the Lord that he was a longtime Christian! Four hours later other family members were going to the hospital, this made for an intense start to the month fortunately the others got back home ok.
We even enjoyed another wedding in September as well.
Late september Nick and I went to the Renaissance Festival, it was my first time and his second. It was interesting to see certainly, but I think we like the Great Minnesota Get Together a bit more. It was fun to try the Ren Fest at least once though.
October brought planning for my contributions to Beck’s wedding namely the bachelorette.
For Halloween Nick and I dressed up as Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. complete with Rufus 🙂
Beck’s wedding was November 7th. Congrats Becks and Caleb!
I had a wonderful thanksgiving birthday this year complete with a birthday brunch with my immediate family and thanksgiving with some extended Glader family members. On Saturday Nick took me out for a lovely birthday dinner.
In early December Nick and I enjoyed the Bethel Festival of Christmas with our Moms, it was a lovely evening of food and music!
And Nick turns 30 this December 20! Happy Birthday Love <3
