Politics Is More Than What You Think it Is
because it’s really the science of influence. That’s part of the reason it plays a huge part in COVID-19 and what has happened and is happening in society. There is a lot of influence to be had throughout this process, through communication (or sometimes lack thereof) from society, the church, government, businesses, relationships, everything. Now politics includes everything you probably think it does. Government, leadership, philosophy. But at its core it’s about influence and which ideas get used, and how. It’s about exercising or seeking power in the governmental or public affairs of a state, municipality, etc (to quote Dictionary.com). That all takes influence, from campaigning to meeting people, to…

An Honorable Welcome
This past Saturday my whole family went to the airport to pick up my grandpa from the airport. He finally got the chance to participate in Honor Flight Twin Cities. It’s a one day trip for World War II, Korean, and Vietnam veterans to see the memorials that are in Washington DC in their honor. Many of my family members went to the airport last weekend to welcome him home from the trip. It was a wonderful evening with fun surprises! And what a trip it was! Truth Matters
Tact usually does too. Facts don’t care about feelings. These are important things to remember when we’re searching answers or information in general. I Like Facebook Best for Social Media
I know, I know, I sound old when I say this but please hear me out, I have some good reasons. I have enjoyed using Facebook since the summer before 8th grade. Facebook was the site most of my family was connected on already, and that my friends were getting introduced to as well at the time. It became a fun website where I could post fun, and funny pictures and text, simply “friend” friends and message friends for free, because texting wasn’t unlimited at the time. Facebook gets disliked by some younger people because the older generations are also interacting with it, but this is one of my favorite…

I Voted.
Check. Donezo. Got ‘er done. Complete. I already voted a couple of weeks ago. Politics are important to me, it’s the science of influence after all. I voted early because I knew who I wanted to vote for, and I didn’t want to worry about a line on election day, because that’s youth group night. Voting is something I grew up being a part of. As a homeschooler my mom would take her with us when she went. Plus I got a sticker anyway. In addition, during lunch prep she would turn on talk radio, so that was something else I was aware of. Lastly, she got us involved with…
