The Search for a Water Bottle
I’ve had a water bottle in my backpack or by my side pretty much everywhere I go since, about 4th grade when a teacher gave me one I liked. Unfortunately, that one I had to throw, but soon after my family bought others. In middle school we used aluminum ones with screw tops, in high school I really liked Camelbaks, in college I had found a aluminum one with a straw that worked for a while. the flip top broke off that one and now I’m using a silicon sleeved, covered one with a straw from Ello. I’ve had a Nalgene on backup since high school as well. I drink water all the time, and I like having it with me.
Why do I say all this? Because none of these options are quite what I’ve looked for, but I can’t find anything better.
“But how is that possible. there are umpteen water bottle brands, from other varieties from the brands I’ve mentioned to others. Have you not tried Hydroflask or Swell, or something else?
Well, here’s my wishlist.
- Most any bottle material is fine, as long as it’s hard and strong.
- It has to have a strong carry loop on top, (not like Nalgene’s).
- It needs to fit in my cupholders, on my bike and on my car.
- I’d like it to have a straw so it’s easier to drink.
- And to top it all off it needs to have a – preferably sealed – lid, see what I did there ๐
