High Heels Are Like…

Some are classier than others some are taller than others, but even since getting taller I realized I kind of enjoy wearing high heels sometimes. I like dressing up for certain events and church, and its a fun way to literally and figuratively elevate a look.

Today I realized how high heels relate to a Christian faith. Hear me out.

The heels I own I’d like to think are pretty but after a few hours, they do tend to hurt my feet. I like how I can see more because they make me taller than others, but sometimes I let that get to my head, and I tend to be a bit above my friends in the shoes (again I’m taller than most of my gal pals). Not to mention the times I’ve tripped in heels and that’s not fun, it can be a bumpy road sometimes.

Ready?

Christianity and what Christ did for us is beautiful, but it still hurt Him in the process, and it doesn’t make our lives perfect. Christianity gives us a bigger picture of the world in light of eternity, but sometimes Christians can be high and mighty, and that’s not good either, since its only Christ’s work on the cross that saves us.

So ladies, next time you put on a pair of heels maybe you’ll have the chance to think about your faith, and what it means over time.

And for everyone: maybe you’ll be challenged to think about other analogies and how they can help you see an idea in a different light.

The analogy isn’t perfect, and I’m not telling everyone reading this to go buy a pair of heels, but I see value in the comparison.
