You Might Wanna Bag Up Your Board Games

I know, I know, for the big time board gamers this might sound like a terrible idea, because it means getting rid of the board games’ boxes in many cases. For me though I am already enjoying having put my board game contents in labeled plastic bags, and storing them far more compactly.

This started with storing a few favorite board game boxes in a pretty, vintage container, then bagging some of them and then going to bagging the vast majority, yes there are exceptions but they’re very intentional and/or meaningful. The key is most of our board games now fit in a small, handled tote the can sit in the corner of our living room, ready to access and even take to friends homes.

Some games are actually more effectively stored in boxes, say my Spot It! game that has it’s own tin, or my grandma’s vintage “Racko! That I have kept the original box for, and slid it in the container

Another key action I took with this change was writing out the names, and players alotted for each game on a single sheet of paper, and taping it to the lid of the container, so it can easily be referenced when my, husband, I, or others want to know what we have for game inventory.

We still keep some games downstairs, but these are also listed on their own spot on the list on the lid of the primary container.
