No More Writing for Rubrics – Praxis Wednesday Response

I’ve told a lot of stories on this blog so far, and it’s been fun for me. From retelling memories, to explaining some of my favorite things, I’ve actually enjoyed writing and while that’s not entirely new to me, getting to write how I want mostly is.

I’ve tried to write with my own voice, and a lot of what we discuss last night for Praxis Wednesday was cleaning up our writing voice for the sake of our readers. Making things flow better so that even though its our voice, it will be easy to read.

We edited our past articles as a group and found the strong points and weak points, and even discussed how to use unique writing elements, such as puns, best in our writing, as part of our voice. This helped me understand how I can implement my speaking voice more effectively into my writing.

I had learned to write mostly for rubrics in the past. Though as I mentioned to the group last night, the three of us in our module have all written with different styles, on vastly different topics, and that’s all good and okay, even though a rubric may not have deemed it so.

Writing is an art form, and all art looks different, that doesn’t always mean when one piece is good the other one is bad. That is to say, it can be bad if you’re not careful, so always keep working on it!
