Month 9 at a StartUp

I wrote a post about week 9 at a startup so it seemed like it was about time to write again. Mind you I’m now in the middle of my ninth month, but I wanted to write about what I’ve been up to.

For instance, in the past months, I’ve participated in a number of company events, weekly D2 meetings, and countless call crushes with my colleagues. This is what we call a time where we go through a list we’ve previously put together and call down the list of numbers – essentially. I’ve called hundreds and hundreds of people. I’ll admit it’s a lot, but I keep at it.

A few weeks ago I even got the chance to see our co-founder, Ryan Hanson, speak at an event called “State of the State” hosted by an organization called Beta I believe. It was a chance to hear about the startup culture in Minnesota. From what different startups are up to to the resources available to them. I even got the chance to go out for some late-night food with the cofounders, and some others at Dispatch, we chatted about stories from the early days of Dispatch and where the cofounders see things going.

As for what I’ve been up to on the day to day that has changed a lot in the past month and a half. We restructured the sales team, I got a new market, we just a couple of weeks ago started building a new market in Ohio, and we even completely switched where everyone on the sales teams desks are. It’s a lot of change and there’s more coming, especially when it comes to adding new markets. It’s exciting to see the good in the company.

Add to that working from home consistently for the first time because of even more recent news with COVID-19 and it’s crazy to think back to even 2 months ago.

Month 9 also means we’ve even been through a hockey season at the Dispatch ice rink, it was fun to head down the stairs, lace-up skates, and hit the puck during a lunch hour, but now the time has come for us Minnesotans at corporate to look forward to spring – it’s bittersweet.

As for life in general, I still got to swing dance weekly, volunteer at youth group weekly recently. I’ve also been to some worship nights with friends a couple family dinners, a church banquet, among other various adventures.

Now with COVID-19 a couple of these happen digitally otherwise that has been yet another change in life right now.

Here’s to more great moments at Dispatch.
