Truly, Truly

These are my thoughts from the sermon I herd this morning at church.

³ Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again^[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3

The 2 words back to back communicate the absolute certainty of the claim. Another spiritual truth in this passage is that we’re born again. Jesus is the giver of life.

 ⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

This has to do with how we are reborn out of baptism and belief. But our salvation is based on our faith alone.
