    Talent and Opportunity

    I’ve always wondered what i could be good at that I haven’t tried yet. Am I a great surfer, that hasn’t taken the time or had the chance to try? Someday we’ll see. Is the kid who lives on the beach and struggles to swim actually a terrific artist, and/or hockey player? Is the adult who has lived in the city their whole life actually a stellar equestrian? Who knows, and maybe there’s evidence against my theory, but what if. Ideally everyone would have the chance to try new things, but this just isn’t how it is.     Truly, Truly

    These are my thoughts from the sermon I herd this morning at church. 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3 The 2 words back to back communicate the absolute certainty of the claim. Another spiritual truth in this passage is that we’re born again. Jesus is the giver of life.  5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3 This has to do with how we are reborn out of baptism and belief. But our salvation is based on our faith alone.
