Marketing Education on YouTube
What if there was more marketing education on YouTube?
For last month’s module in the Praxis program, I was challenged to create and develop a project of my own choosing, I decided to make a channel and share marketing videos to whoever would search the topic on the site.
Whether your a student interested in marketing, a business that wants to figure out how they can better strategize their marketing efforts, a professional who likes to learn about new things, or something else my marketing videos will help you better understand the marketing world, especially in terms of small businesses, and the psychology of how marketing works.
In the youtube curriculum I’ve created, I’ve analyzed small businesses and what they do well, not-so-well, and the design strategies they could implement while tying everything together at the end. Viewers can also sign up for a newsletter that will include notes based on the content if they want to save the ideas for later.
Each week of the month of August 2018 I will be publishing new videos from the series. Not only do I believe that these analysis videos could actually help these business other students could learn a lot from the strategies presented. I believe it showcases my ability to write copy, or script in this case, my on-camera presence, my design skills up to this point, and my ability to take the information and knowledge I’ve gained up to this point and combine them into something meaningful.
The biggest challenge in this was developing what the videos would look like, and how I would present myself as a professional while also being engaging, and interesting to watch.
The development process looked a little different as I moved through creating each of the videos I started out much more scripted than I ended, and I believe it was for the better. As I moved through the development I also narrowed down a better-structured style that presented well but also provides for better following of the content. Each video involved four core steps: writing, filming, design, and editing.
I’ve combined diverse business analysis, with unique marketing concepts, well-presented ideas to develop a list of videos that provide a well-rounded outlook on beginner marketing concepts. If you’d like to check it out click here.
