Mural

I was told about mural by an advisor at Praxis. It’s kind of a combination of google docs, smart boards and whiteboards. I think it’s a great idea!

I believe I could add value on Mural’s marketing team. At one of my previous roles I was remote from my boss a large portion of the time, and a tool like this would’ve made things a lot easier!

SEO

After a chat with one of my Praxis advisors about SEO I decided that I wanted to develop at least one project around the idea, to as far as I knew how. So for Mural, I brainstormed this list of possible keyword searches.

To figure out what words are helpful searches for Mural to get business we have to look at what keywords make sense to their brand and what those terms look like in a search engine if they relate to other similar items/themes or not. Terms like “see the plan” were eliminated because their search results led in other directions that wouldn’t be helpful to Mural, in that terms case, it showed healthcare options instead of business plans.

I also added “business collaboration” as well as “collaborate visually”.

Since brainstorming that list I have been able to do research and narrow down some of the best options for implementing on their site

Stand Outs:

Remote group work (app) • Think Visually • Digital First

Close 2nds:

Work Together • Digital Corkboard • Business Collaboration

Okay Options:

Remote/Timely/Visual Collaboration • Teamwork • Remote Workforce • Interactive Whiteboard •

Moderate:

Draw It Out • Smart Board • Interactive Employees

Each of these levels represents not only how often the phrase should be used on the site, but how helpful it is in the search results. If they all could be implemented it would only help their SEO I believe, but the Moderate ones may not be worth the business’s time. From saving images with these titles to using it more often in the text, improving keyword presense can only help SEO.

Adding these terms to the text on Mural’s website more often will help search engines find you and list Mural closer to the top more easily. Things like writing their website copy to include more helpful keywords.

Attaching your social profiles could help boost the right traffic to their site. by linking more often to their social profiles it could get more traffic from there in return and therefore boost their SEO in that respect as well.

I noticed mural already does a good job of creating informative links within their blog, a great step to take would be to ensure they’re the right words, and that they’re actually driving the right kind of traffic, ie potential customers.

By capitalizing on SEO mural could make it easier for people, namely, the right people to find them online. SEO can mean the difference between whole groups finding a company’s website or not.

Design

I noticed that Mural didn’t have paid Facebook ads or an Instagram. So I made the company pictures for one. They each help customers to consider how the Mural product could help them!

From considering the practical elements of the brand to inspiring a business to expand across the country, to encouraging a different kind of work style; compelling posts would encourage click through.

I saw digital first a number of places on the website so I decided to include it as a hashtag on one of the posts as well.

Note: I do not own the logo featured in the images it is from the company’s website at https://mural.co
