Bethel University

Work I did as a student, and student employee

Original Logo concept/Design for Friends of the Bethel University Library designed by Katherine Glader

For my final senior marketing seminar at Bethel University, my group worked with the “Friends” group to help them rebrand and better advertise. My biggest portion of the project was logo brainstorming. I created this mockup (among others) and then sent it to the university’s graphic designer so that we’d have a professional product. The design was created with the library theme in mind: not only does the circle look like a stain from a coffee mug, it also represents an old-fashioned library book stamp. It also had to not only be a modernized logo, to be noticed by university students, it had to have a classic element to it in order to be appreciated by alumni in general as well.

Magazine Cover Created for a Class design by Katherine Glader

While at Bethel University I took a class on consumer behavior. One of the projects for the class was to create a magazine for a subculture. My group decided to cover the CrossFit subculture. My portion of the project was to develop and design the magazine after receiving content from my group members.

Bethel University Commuter Life Event Advertisement design by Katherine Glader

While at Bethel University I worked in Commuter Life. In this role, I took on the responsibilities of being the marketer, and in this case, I took on the graphic design for the event. We needed a square advertisement to feature on social media. I wanted to create a simple image that provided all the necessary details, and that would stand out on Instagram and Facebook feeds.

Original Advertisement Concept/Design for a school project: “The Lemon House” designed by Katherine Glader

In advertising and promotions class we were given the assignment to create a new product and create an advertising plan for it. In this case, I created this ad mockup for the business once we had an idea and name in mind. It was created to be featured in magazines, and travel booklets.
