PIVOT. PIVOT. PIVOT.
I love marketing (branding, advertising, writing, you get the point) but I’ve realized that as far as a side job goes I’d love to be doing organized, edited, interior design. I’ve lived in my home for almost a year and discovered even more of my design, and frugal purchasing chops along the way.
I would love to be a part of my friends, families’ chances to have homes they love, for a frugal price, and have beautiful, practical spaces.
Homes are spaces where those who live there should feel at home in while also being spaces where anyone else welcomed into the home can also feel comfortable too. I know everyone has different budgets, because I do, and I feel like most home shows aren’t catering to the average (albeit frugal) consumer.
To add to this there are different ways of updating and admittedly I would largely find myself designing towards the end of less large scale, change – largely to save money.
That said 3 words have come to mind of how I intend to approach interior design as a whole.
Edited. Frugal. Beautiful.
Edited. I believe in not just creating organized systems and spaces within a home, but additionally first helping homeowners minimize and declutter if possible.
Frugal. I believe in making the most of what people already own, what’s valuable to them, and what I can incorporate otherwise on a tight budget. I believe in the beauty of family heirlooms, heirlooms-to-be, a good thrifted find, and maybe a smart “splurge” or two.
Beautiful. I believe that any space can be made beautiful, where it’s taking advantage of gorgeous family-loved pieces in an aesthetic way, picking a new paint color to update a space, re-orienting, and restyling furniture, or going in with new pieces (researched to find a great deal) to more thruroughly refresh a space.
I want everyone to be able to live in spaces that they can enjoy, with strategic updates, and systems that they can afford, and where they can enjoy their space without hindering clutter as much as possible.
I want everyone to be glader in their home. 🙂
So all that said I would love to start working with clients to makeover their homes. An online design/editing consultation about a space for an hour and a half will start at $25*. With in-person being available in the twin cities of Minnesota (unless you really want to pay for my plane ticket and hotel room too I guess;).
*Does not include any physical product, and does not guarantee explicitly full space planning
Wardrobe
I’d also love to help people put together beautiful wardrobes they love at a price they can afford without sacrificing style.
I believe that it’s very possible with some planning, patience, and strategizing, I believe in making a wardrobe fit a person while also making sure they can present the best version of themselves for any dress code they may encounter. An online consultation about one individual’s wardrobe for an hour and a half will start at $25**. With in-person being available in the twin cities of Minnesota (unless you really want to pay for my plane ticket and hotel room too I guess;).
