Sometimes this phrase is challenged as taking the Christ out of Christmas. In reality the “X” represents the first letter of the greek word for Christ. As long as you pronounce the Phrase as “Christmas” instead “ex-mas” I think writing out the shorter version is usually fine. I’ve found it’s not about the day even either, its about remembering Jesus’ birth. My family just made the five-hour trip back home today so we could see both sides of the family.
